My parents' finally got a doggie! This is Thomas! He is big old sweetheart! He is a 5 year old Brittany Spaniel. He was found as a stray with a terrible flea infestation that made him lose his hair. He was rescued and treated before my parents adopted him! He is hanging out with us for a few days. :)
Just look at the cute face!! He doesn't love baths, but he definitely doesn't hate them. I think his favorite part is when he gets dried off with a towel. He thinks its a game where you attack the towel. We are still working on making him understand that there are delicate fingers underneath that cloth he tries to bite. :)
Beren was so sad that he was not allowed to play with the ball that moved on its own and comes with a tasty treat inside! He knew it was off limits because this ball was running around in the guest bedroom and Beren is not allowed in the guest bedroom. So he sat and moped outside the bedroom. Haha! Poor puppy! Beren LOVES snow! I know he looks calm in this picture, but that is only because he had just run through the yard! He really enjoys being outside! I can't convince him to stay inside!
Beren is getting so big! I thought it would be nice to get a picture of him by the Christmas tree! We have been teaching him the command "stay" and he has been doing really well with it! Honestly, that is the only reason I even tried to get these pictures. Haha! :) I also bought these ornaments in honor of his first Christmas in our family! Isn't he cute?! I don't think he has a clue what the ornaments are. He just knows that he can't play with them. Haha!
Beren got to meet Bailey on Tuesday! Bailey is basically Beren's cousin (she is my brother's dog). :) I couldn't believe that they are basically the same size except that Bailey weighs more. It really made me realize just how much and how quickly Beren has grown! Anyways, they had fun playing together! I was surprised at their interactions. It didn't go like I thought it would. Bailey made it clear from the beginning that she was going to be the alpha dog, and she communicated this by barking at Beren which made him run and take cover under our Christmas Tree (that poor tree took a beating that day!). She also was the one that initiated the playing (which was super surprising to me!). She would bark at Beren and then they would run around together and take turns chasing each other. She seemed to like Beren a lot at first. She was so excited that she was foaming and drooling everywhere. But after a couple hours, Bailey seemed to be annoyed with Beren and was trying to figure out where to go to get away from him. He finally seemed to understand and went back to his usual method of annoying me, which is to bring a ball and try to stuff it into my lap until I throw it for him. You should definitely watch the video to see them running around together! :)
This video is from Sunday when we got our first snow of the season! Beren had fun playing in it. I wasn't able to let him play for very long since it was getting dark quickly. He had a lot of fun! :)
