Kira and Arien

I have a lot I should be doing today, but I'm getting easily distracted.  Thankfully most of my distractions are including things that are at least on my to do list, just much lower down.  One of the things I finally did was update my cameras' firmware.  They were on very old versions.  The top picture was my quick test shot to make sure the firmware didn't break the cameras.  Haha!

 

Rainy Day Fun

Rainy days mean spending extra time home with Kira and Arien.  I appreciate that they are willing to let me take their pictures.  Kira likes to follow me around though which makes it difficult as she gets way too close for focus.  Arien tends to sit still, but glares at me.  Haha!  

I decided to test out the ISO on my camera and see how grainy it gets in low light.  I'm pretty happy with these!  I love my camera.  😊

Flashing the Cats

 It's been a while since I've taken any pictures of my pretty cats.  I decided to play around with using flash since I rarely use it.  The cats didn't really appreciate the flashing, but they tolerated it for me.  Aren't they cute??!!

Hawk in Backyard

Earlier this month I got a call from the neighbor behind us.  I thought maybe they needed help with their dogs (Missy loves to get out and go for a run around the neighborhood 😁).  But instead, he told me to look at my backyard.  When I looked, I immediately knew why he called.  There was a big hawk sitting on top of the swing set.  I thanked him for letting me know and then promptly grabbed my camera to get some pictures.  I apparently didn't need to rush though because the hawk sat up there for about 3 hours if I remember correctly.  It definitely made my housework day way more entertaining when every time I walked by the window, I saw him sitting there.  So neat!!

Also, I don't really know why I'm posting these here instead of on my wildlife blog.  Oh well.  Not gonna change it now.  Hahaha!  But if you like wild animals, you should check out the blog I have for that at https://rwpwildlife.blogspot.com/.

Arien

 Sometimes Arien sleeps all day under the bed or in the closet, but sometimes, she comes out to see what's going on.  She has a tendency to get her left ear inside out when taking a bath, but it never seems to bother her and she will often walk around looking silly.  I'm glad I finally caught a picture of it!

Kira

Kira was following me around when I had my camera out to take pictures of my plants so I took pictures of her too.  She likes to be with me during the day.  In fact, she's sleeping in my lap right now as I type.  She's such a sweet cat.  💗

 

New Plants, Blooms, and More

It's been a long time since I last posted here.  I haven't taken too many pictures like this in a while.  I realized that I have gotten quite a lot of new plants since I last took pictures, so I wanted to get some good photos of the new ones as well as some of my other favorites.  I also am enjoying my orchids blooming right now.  They all love that I moved them to our bedroom earlier this year and immediately worked on putting out a flower spike for me.  I've been having fun propagating various plants to sell in a Facebook group I'm in.  I am not doing it to try to make a bunch of money, but it is a nice way to recoup some of the cost of buying more plants.  Haha!  I think most of the cuttings I got are ready to be potted up now, so that is my plan for this weekend.  I have cute little pots that I 3D print which act as cache pots to the clear liners with holes that I use.  I'm gonna give them a few weeks in soil to make sure they are gonna be okay and then I'll be selling them for a couple bucks each.
